  1. Arizona’s reputation as the epicenter of America’s semiconductor resurgence was highlighted this week at SEMICON West, North America’s premier microelectronics conference. SEMICON West will relocate to Phoenix on a rotating basis, starting in October 2025 following 50 consecutive years in San Francisco
  2. Virgin Galactic, a leading aerospace and space travel company, completed construction this week on its spaceship manufacturing facility in Mesa. Final assembly work on the spacecraft is expected to launch in early 2025, advancing Virgin’s plans to scale its operations and increase access to space
  3. Maricopa County was recently ranked the No. 1 county in the nation for economic development performance, according to Site Selection magazine. The article highlighted Arizona’s leadership in workforce training, advanced manufacturing, logistics and more. 
  4. Phoenix ranks as a top U.S. hub for life sciences talent, according to a new report by CBRE, which measured employment trends and workforce talent in 100 markets across the country. The report also found Phoenix is the second fastest-growing market for life sciences degrees, achieving a growth rate of 75% between 2017 and 2022
  5. Applied Energetics, a Tucson-based laser and optical technology development company, will expand its manufacturing capacity at University of Arizona’s UA Tech Park. The company will lease an additional 5,000-square-feet to establish a “Battle Lab,” to conduct laser system testing and demonstrations.
