Scottsdale on-demand staffing startup raises $3.5M for expansion plans

Qwick Inc., the Scottsdale-based on-demand staffing startup for food and beverage contract employees, has closed on a $3.5 million seed round of funding.

This new capital round, which closed Monday, is on top of the $1.3 million it raised in December, pushing its total raised in seed funding so far to almost $5 million, said CEO and co-founder Jamie Baxter.

The staffing platform has 10,000 professional servers, bartenders, cooks and dishwashers signed up, connecting the gig workers with 250 clients, including hotels, catering companies, event venues, restaurants and bars.
