SynCardia’s Total Artificial Heart Featured Among 100 Most Important Events in Human History

TUCSON, Ariz.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–On Oct. 23, a new exhibit featuring the SynCardia temporary Total Artificial Heart (photo) titled “From the Big Bang to the World Wide Web: The Origins of Everything,” will open at the Mathers Museum of World Cultures at Indiana University (IU). The exhibit revolves around the 100 most important events in the “evolution of everything,” including human, biological and planetary history.

“We wanted to include the Total Artificial Heart in our exhibit because it is the world’s first and only approved Total Artificial Heart,” said Kathy Schick, one of two IU anthropology professors who produced the long-term exhibit. “In the field of medical devices, the Total Artificial Heart represents life-saving technological innovation and remarkable scientific progress.”
